Freedom
for the captives
Trapped in poverty
In Pakistan, there are approximately 3 million people, mostly Christian, working in 20,000 brick making factories across the country. Forced to work in the most appalling conditions, they are trapped in debt bondage, having taken out loans that are never repaid due to below poverty line wages. Children inherit the debt of their parents leading to generations being trapped into a cycle of poverty and desperation.
Debt Forgveness & Immediate Rescue

Most families are trapped in bondage because of an average debt of £600 — an amount that becomes impossible to repay under exploitative conditions.
HTMI pays this debt in full, legally releasing the family from slavery.
This is the first moment of their freedom — but it is only the beginning.

Safe Home Recovery & Holistic Care

After release, families are brought directly to the Saint James Safe Home, a secure communal home where they can finally rest without fear.
At the safe house, they receive:
· Comfortable communal housing
· Fresh clothing and shoes
· Nutritious meals prepared daily
· Access to toys, books, and safe spaces for children
· Daily sermons, prayer, and pastoral care from Christian ministers
· Security protection
· House staff, cooks, and cleaning support
This is a time of restoration, where body, mind, and spirit begin to heal.
Each family will have access to a Care Coordinator who connects them with resources for medical treatment, mental health, school enrollment for youth and more.
